BASEBALL AVENGES BEARCATS 18-2

VESTAL, NY-The Dolphins exploded in the top of the second inning scattering ten hits and producing nine runs to avenge the Binghamton Bearcats. Earlier this season the Bearcats defeated the Dolphins 12-10 at Dick Rockwell Field. The Dolphins would scatter twenty-one hits generating eighteen runs in the ballgame. Sophomore Daniel Tunison (3-2) would receive his third win of the season in relief. The right-hander would toss 2.1 solid scoreless innings. The Dolphins pick up their 22nd win of the season, improving them to 22-19. The loss sends the Bearcats to 19-22 on the season.

Junior Chris Haynes and senior Corey O'Neill would lead all Dolphins with four hits at the plate. Haynes, perfect at the plate (4-4), would drive three runs across and add two more doubles (8) to his season total. O'Neill would blasts his six towering home run of the season to right field, missing the cycle by a triple.

Seniors Stephen Crawford, Robby Perez, Phil St. Amant, Corey O'Neill, juniors Matt Nandin, Chris Haynes, and sophomore Chris Edmondson would all contribute multi-hit games for Coach Owens' club.

Junior starting pitcher Alex Demosthenous would let the only two runs cross home plate in the game. Coach Owens's pen would throw blanks in 7.1 innings of work.

The Dolphins will travel for a four game road trip against the Fairfield Stags and Albany Great Danes starting  May third. The Dolphins will return home Saturday May 10TH and 11TH for their last three game home stand against Rider.
