Syracuse, NY-The Dolphins showed their power at home as they defeated AIC in their NE-10 conference game. The Dolphins first game went neck and neck as Le Moyne took the win 10-6. Using their momentum from their win, the Dolphins shut out AIC in their second game 6-0. Jennifer Farrelly led the Dolphins in their double header as she went 5-7 with three homeruns and six RBI's.
The Dolphins started the day off strong as they defeated AIC in their first game of their double header with a score of 10-6. Sarah Reed's triple down the leftfield line put Le Moyne on the board early in the first inning. Caitlin O'Neill's single to leftfield would extend the Dolphins lead to 2-0. Keeping the streak going Jennifer Farrelly's homerun, brought the Dolphins to a comfortable lead of 5-0. AIC tried to rally back as they brought in four runs in the third inning, making the score 5-4. In the top of the fourth, AIC took the lead for the first time as they plated three more runs . The Dolphins fought back as Reed's homer put the Dolphins within one. Caitlin O'Neill brought the game to 7-7 with her homerun. Bailey Phillip's single to center field brought in two more to give the Dolphins the lead once more. Dolphins, Danielle VanGorder's SAC fly brought in the last run giving the Dolphins the win 10-6.
Earning the win for the Dolphins was Farrelly, making her record 3-2 for the season. Farrelly also made her mark as she lead with three RBI's. Sarah Reed and Bailey Phillips followed close behind with two RBI's each.
Each of Le Moyne's six runs of the second game came via homerun. In the first inning, Reed gave the Dolphins the lead as she hit her second homerun of the season. Farrelly followed in the bottom of the fourth with another homerun, bringing the Dolphins to 2-0. VanGorder added two more runs with her homerun to right field. Farrelly then caped the homerun streak with her team leading fourth home run to center field locking the Dolphins victory.
Two time NE-10 Freshman of the week, Jenna Vanacore earned her fourth win for the season . This was Vanacore's second shutout as she struck out 10 of 24 batter.
Join the Dolphins Monday as the travel to St. Rose for thier Northeast 10 conference double header at 5 pm. The Dolphins return home Thursday at 3 pm to face Mercy.
