SOFTBALL SWEEPS PACE UNIVERSITY IN DOUBLE HEADER AT HOME

Syracuse NY - Le Moyne extended their record to 17-7, 6-0 in NE-10 as they defeated Pace University today in their NE-10 conference game. The Dolphins first game of the day was close as they took the win against the Setters 5-4. Le Moyne's bats and pitching showed their power as they shut out Pace in their second game of the day 8-0.

In game one, the Dolphins would take the lead in the second with Jennifer Farrellys monster two run homerun over the center field fence. The Dolphins extended their lead in the third plating two more runs from an error by the pitcher and Caitlin O'Neill's double to left field. Trying to rally back Pace brought in two runs in the sixth innings making the score 4-2. In the bottom of the sixth Kelly Schweikerts single to center field brought the Dolphins to 5-2. Trying to make a last chance effort Pace brought the game within one in the sixth inning. This wouldn't be enough as Farrelly's pitching closed the door on the setters giving the Dolphins the win 5-4.

Earning the win for the Dolphins was, Sarah Reed through her 5.1 innings in the circle. This victory makes Reed 6-2 for the season. Farrelly led the Dolphins in RBI's with two followed by Danielle VanGorder, Caitlin O'Neill, and Kelly Schweikert each having one.

In game two, the Dolphins shut out pace winning by the mercy rule 8-0. Staring off slow the Dolphins put their first point on the board in the third by Danielle VanGorder's single to left center. Kelly Schweikert's homerun gave the Dolphin a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. The Dolphins locked in their victory in the bottom of the fifth as they scored six runs. This lead secured the Dolphins win as they shut out Pace University 8-0.

Jennifer Farrelly's win extends her record to 4-2 in the season. VanGorder led the team in RBI's with two as Kelly Phillips, Caitlin O'Neill, Emma Murphy, Kelly Schwiekert, Kim Baker, and Jenna Vanacore each had one.

The Dolphins travel to face St. Rose Monday in a NE-10 conference double header game at 5 pm. They return home to host Mercy Thursday at 3 pm.
