SOFTBALL CONTINUES THEIR 8-0 RUN WITH WINS AGAINST ST. ROSE

Syracuse N.Y.- Le Moyne sweeps St. Rose as they advance their record to 20-7 overall, 8-0 NE-10. The Dolphins burst of energy in the fourth inning led Le Moyne to a 7-3 victory against the Golden Knights. Reeds four RBI's led the Dolphins to a 5-1 victory in their second game of the day.

The Dolphins started off slow in the first game of the day as they found themselves behind 2-0 in the bottom of the third. Something then sparked the Dolphins as they slowly rounded the bases scoring seven runs in the fourth. Kelly Schweikert, Jennifer Farrelly, Lyndsey Balinskas, and Bailey Phillips would all bring in one RBI as the Dolphins worked their runs around the bases. The Dolphins would score their last three runs on two illegal pitches and a SAC fly by Danielle VanGorder.

Reed advanced her record to 7-2 with her win striking out seven in her five innings in the circle. Phillips had a good day at the plate going 4-4 in game one.

In the second game of the day, the Dolphins took the lead early with Reeds single to center field. Both teams remained scoreless until the Dolphins struck again in the sixth inning. Reeds two run homerun extended their lead to 3-0 as they went into the seventh inning. Following a triple by Phillips, Reeds double down the left field line brought in the last run for the Dolphins. The Dolphins would also score on a wild pitch making the final score 5-1.

Earning the win was Jenna Vanacore extending her undefeated record of 5-0. In her 7 innings in the circle Vanacore struck out 12 and only allowed one run. Reed went 3-4 and hit her third homerun for the season. Reed also hit four RBI's as she leads the team with 28 in the season. VanGorder, Reed, and Caitlin O'Neill all had one double each for game two while Phillips hit her first triple of the year.

Join the Dolphins Thursday the 10th at 3:00 pm as they host Mercy in a non-conference double header at the Niland athletic center.
