Syracuse, N.Y. - Juniors Jerry Dumary (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) and Sean Hosford (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) and sophomore Drew Acquaviva (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) won two individual events each and teamed on a relay victory to lead the Le Moyne College men's swimming and diving team to a 154.5-136.5 win over Bentley on Saturday afternoon at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool. On the women's side, junior Sarah Salanger (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) was a double-winner to lead the Dolphins to a 153-144 victory over the Falcons.
Acquaviva, Dumary and Hosford teamed with AJ DeDio (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) to win the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:40.55. Acquaviva later swept the backstroke events, taking the 100-yard in 54.23 seconds and topping the field in the 200-yard in 2:02.05. Dumary, who has captured at least two wins in each of his four meets this year, was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.95) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.77). Hosford picked up his two individual wins in the 50-yard freestyle (22.47) and the 100-yard freestyle (48.72). Freshman Scott Thieke (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) also registered a pair of individual victories on the afternoon. Thieke touched first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:45.22) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.48). Sophomore Joe Taylor (Essex Fells, N.J./Essex Fells) wrapped up the individual wins for the Dolphins by placing first in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:11.07.
On the women's side, Salanger registered two of Le Moyne's four individual wins, while also teaming on a relay victory. Salanger won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.22 and placed first in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.94. Salanger was joined by senior Kayla Ehle (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy), junior Maggie Donovan (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) and senior Sarah Casey (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) on the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay squad that finished in 1:44.33. Casey won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:15.63, while sophomore Katie O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) captured the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.03.
Le Moyne wraps up its four-meet homestand with a dual meet against Nazareth on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1:00 p.m.
