CHADDERDON LEADS RALLY AS #2 MEN'S LACROSSE DEFEATS #10 MERRIMACK, 6-4

North Andover, Mass. – Senior midfielder Matt Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) scored the game-winning goal with just over four minutes left in regulation as the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team rallied for a 6-4 win over #10 Merrimack on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Warrior Field.

Merrimack got on the scoreboard first as Corey Lunney followed a save by sophomore goalkeeper Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS) by finding the back of the net for his 22nd goal of the season at the 7:03 mark.

The Dolphins tied the score at one just 24 seconds later as senior attackman Jack Venditti (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) tallied his 17th goal of the year. Following back-and-forth play over the next three minutes, redshirt junior midfielder Nick Blumer (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Hobart) posted his third goal of the season to give the Dolphins the lead.

The Warriors evened the score at two apiece with 2:02 left in the first quarter as Lunney fed Terence Barclay for his 23rd marker of the campaign. Merrimack regained the lead 1:18 into the second quarter on Mike Perdie's fifth goal of the year. Following six scoreless minutes, Lunney extended his team's lead to two with an unassisted tally.

The Dolphins snapped a scoreless drought of 25 minutes and 24 seconds as senior attackman Vinnie Alexander (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) finished off a feed from classmate Nick DiSarro (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) with 8:18 remaining in the third quarter to close within 4-3.

Off the opening face-off of the fourth quarter, senior face-off specialist/defensive midfielder Corey Bulken (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker), who won nine of his 13 face-offs on the afternoon, fed Venditti to tie the score at four apiece.

Following over 10 minutes of action up and down the field, Chadderdon registered the 90th goal of his career, the seventh-best total in the program's history, to give the Dolphins their first lead since Blumer's goal in the first quarter. Just 47 seconds later, Chadderdon added an insurance goal to make it 6-4.

The Dolphins, who held the Warriors to just six shots after halftime, forced three turnovers in the final 2:44 to seal the victory.

White finished with five saves in between the pipes to post his 20th career win. Connor Reagan made nine saves in the loss for the Warriors.

Le Moyne (9-1, NE-10 7-0), which increased its conference win streak to 42 games, returns to action on Wednesday at #7 Adelphi at 4:00 p.m.
