#2 MEN'S LACROSSE DOWNS BENTLEY, 9-5, IN NORTHEAST-10 ACTION

Waltham, Mass. – Junior attackman Tyler Prevost (Watertown, N.Y./Immaculate Heart/Onondaga C.C.) recorded five points to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 9-5 win over Bentley on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action.

Prevost got the Dolphins on the board less than three minutes into the game with his team-best 16th goal of the season off a pass from graduate student midfielder Tyler Sennett (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham). Just 36 seconds later, Prevost picked up his 17th assist of the campaign as he fed junior midfielder Aaron Cahill (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland/Onondaga C.C.) for a goal.

After 16 minutes and 25 seconds of scoreless action, the Falcons scored a pair of goals in a span of 1:24. Richard Travers got his team on the board with 9:59 remaining in the second quarter. Bobby Hinds followed with an unassisted goal at the 8:35 mark.

Cahill gave the lead back to the Dolphins with his eighth goal of the year with 7:31 left in the half off a pass from Prevost. Steve Caditz answered 25 seconds later to knot the score at three apiece.

Senior midfielder Nick Blumer (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Hobart) gave the Dolphins the lead for good with his ninth goal of the season with 6:16 remaining in the quarter. He doubled the advantage with 2:20 remaining off a feed from Prevost.

J.D. Ayer opened the scoring in the third quarter with an unassisted tally to bring the Falcons within 5-4.

Junior defensive midfielder Conor Regin (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) pushed Le Moyne's lead back to two with his fifth goal of the year in transition. On an extra-man opportunity following a Bentley penalty on Regin's goal, sophomore attackman Chris Button (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) tallied his 12th goal of the year with 3:07 left in the third quarter.

Button scored 1:04 into the fourth quarter off a pass from Prevost to give the Dolphins an 8-4 advantage. He capped Le Moyne's scoring in the game with 6:01 remaining after taking a pass from senior midfielder Taylor Brooks (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair).

Ayer finished off the scoring in the contest by converting a feed from James Gilloran with 37 seconds remaining.

Junior goalkeeper Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS) picked up the win between the pipes for the Dolphins after making 14 saves, the second-highest single game total of his career. Brian Karl turned away 11 shots in the setback for the Falcons.

Le Moyne (12-0, 7-0 NE-10), which clinched a top-four seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, returns to action on Wednesday against Pace at 4:00 p.m.
