VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO CONFERENCE-POWER NEW HAVEN, 3-0

Syracuse, N.Y. – Kristen Lee recorded a double-double to lead the University of New Haven to a 3-0 win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.

New Haven (13-4, 5-0 NE-10), which improved to 93-0 in conference play since joining the league prior to the 2008 season, opened the match by winning the back-and-forth first set, 25-22, after claiming the final three points of the set. The Chargers doubled their lead in the match by using a 9-2 run midway through the second set en route to a 25-16 victory. New Haven closed out the match with a 25-9 win in the third set after scoring the first eight points and then using runs of 7-0 and 5-0.

Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) and freshman outside hitter Danica Durdines (Alta Loma, Calif./Los Osos) led the Dolphins with 7.5 points each. Casson had seven kills, five digs and a block assist, while Durdines tallied seven kills, two assists and a block assist. Sophomore outside hitter Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) recorded six kills and two digs. Senior setter Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) directed the offense with 23 assists, while sophomore libero Maura Fay (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall) led the Dolphins defensively with eight digs.

Lee registered match-highs of 14 kills and 11 digs, while adding a service ace. Meghan Kennelly came off the bench to record 11 kills, five digs, three blocks and a service ace. Kaulana Ane dished out 28 assists and had one kill, one service ace and one dig, while Annika Hacker posted five assists, six digs and a match-best three service aces.

Le Moyne (5-10, 2-4 NE-10), which has dropped back-to-back 3-0 decisions after recording three straight wins, returns to the court on Friday against Merrimack College at 5:00 p.m.
