VOLLEYBALL EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO THREE WITH 3-1 VICTORY AT SAINT ANSELM

Manchester, N.H. – Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) registered 17 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference play at Stoutenburgh Gym.

Following back-and-forth action over the first 29 points of the first set, the Dolphins rattled off six straight points and 11 of the last 13 points to register a 25-17 victory. In the second set, the Hawks scored four consecutive points for a 16-13 lead and eventually pushed their lead to 21-16. Le Moyne countered with four straight points and nine of the last 10 points for a 25-22 win and a 2-0 lead in the match. Saint Anselm stayed alive in the match with a 25-16 victory in the third set after tallying 11 of the last 13 points. The Dolphins closed out the match with a 25-23 win in the fourth set, which featured 12 ties and eight lead changes.

On her way to her match-high kill total, Casson hit .441, while posting seven digs, one block and one assist. Sophomore outside hitter Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) recorded her second straight double-double with a season high-tying 15 kills and 10 digs, while adding three service aces. Senior setter Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) directed the offense with 41 aces and added nine digs, two kills and two service aces. Sophomore libero Maura Fay (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall) led the Dolphins defensively with 12 digs.

Kathryn Teets and Amanda Williams led three Hawks in double-digits with 13 kills each, while adding three block assists each. Brennah Gladwill registered 12 kills, four service aces and three digs. Natalie Steinwart recorded a double-double of 42 assists and 13 digs. Melissa Jewett and CC Chrisom led the Hawks defensively with 18 and 10 digs, respectively.

Le Moyne (8-10, 5-4 NE-10), which has won six of its last eight matches, returns home to begin a three-match homestand on Friday against Franklin Pierce University at 5:00 p.m.
