VOLLEYBALL EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO FOUR WITH 3-1 VICTORY OVER FRANKLIN PIERCE

Syracuse, N.Y. – Sophomores Allegra Lee Bell (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) each recorded double-digit kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Franklin Pierce University on Friday night in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.

The Dolphins took the first lead of the match with a 25-20 win in the first set. After the teams split the first 24 points, the Dolphins rattled off five of the next six points. The Ravens countered with a 6-1 run to take a 19-18 lead. After calling timeout, the Dolphins tallied six straight points and seven of the last eight to take the set.

Franklin Pierce evened the match at one win apiece by taking the second set, 25-21. After the Dolphins tied the score at 16-apiece, Franklin Pierce posted three straight points and nine of the last 14 for the win.

Le Moyne regained the lead with a 25-19 victory in the third set. After the Ravens took a 14-11 lead on a service ace, the Dolphins responded with seven of the next eight points to take the lead. Following a Franklin Pierce kill to get within 19-18, Le Moyne registered five consecutive points and six of the set's last seven points.

The Dolphins closed out the match with another 25-19 win in the fourth set. Following back-and-forth play over the first 29 points resulted in a 15-14 Le Moyne lead, the Dolphins recorded six straight points around a Franklin Pierce timeout. The teams then traded points the remainder of the set, which was ended on a Bell kill.

Casson registered her fifth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 10 digs, while Bell recorded a career-high 13 kills to go along with five digs and three blocks. Senior setter Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) tallied her team-best 12th double-double of the season and third in four matches with 40 assists and 14 digs, while adding three kills, three service aces and two blocks. Sophomores Annie Stoklosa (Victor, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) and Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) led the Dolphins defensively with 17 and 16 digs, respectively, while Buchanan added nine kills and two service aces.

Catie Swiderski led the Ravens offensively with 15 kills, while adding seven digs and two service aces. Aiden Garcia registered 12 kills, seven digs, two assist and two blocks. Hannah Runge directed the Franklin Pierce offense with 41 assists, while Sarah MacHugh and Kelsey Hausman led the Ravens defensively with 16 and 14 digs, respectively.

Le Moyne (9-10, 6-4 NE-10), which has won four straight matches and seven of its last nine, is back in action on Saturday against Southern New Hampshire University at 2:00 p.m. Prior to the opening serve, the senior class of Maisonet, Kristen Willets (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal), Alexandra Loewy (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) and Stephanie Belanger (Quebec City, Quebec/DeRochebelle) will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for their contributions to the program.
