Syracuse, N.Y. – Meg Salamun registered 16 kills over the final four sets to lead Southern New Hampshire University to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.
The Dolphins fall to 9-11 on the season, including a mark of 6-5 in the Northeast-10, while Southern New Hampshire improves to 16-9 and 8-5 in the league, while also clinching a berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
After the teams split the opening 12 points of the first set, the Dolphins rattled off five straight points en route to capturing the set, 25-20. The Penmen tallied the first three points of the second set and never trailed on their way to a 25-19 win. After committing an attack error on the first point of the third set, the Dolphins posted five straight points and seven of the next eight as they claimed the set, 25-21, to take a 2-1 lead in the match. The Penman stayed alive in the match by cruising to a 25-13 win in the fourth set after tallying eight straight points following a Le Moyne service ace to start the set. In the fifth set, the Penmen scored the first four points and the Dolphins countered with the next four after calling timeout to force a Southern New Hampshire timeout. After the Dolphins answered a Penmen 2-0 spurt with one of their own, Southern New Hampshire registered three straight points and nine of the last 11 points for a 15-8 victory.

Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) led the Dolphins offensively with 13 kills, while adding 11 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. Senior setter
Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) registered her 13t double-double of the campaign with 34 assists and a season-high 16 digs, while adding three service aces. With her first assist of the match, Maisonet became just the fourth setter in the program's history to dish out 3,000 career assists and the first since fellow Pine Bush native and program record-holder Julie McLaud '07. After entering the match in the second set, Salamun hit .481 en route to her match-high kill total, while adding three blocks and two service aces. Fellow middle hitter Marisa Coronis added 14 kills. Catherine Cotton directed the Southern New Hampshire offense with 48 assists, while posting 13 digs, four service aces and two blocks. Libero Maeghan Higgins led the Penmen defensively with 31 digs, while Kendra Mikuta and Kathleen Schurman recorded 18 and 11 digs, respectively.
