New Haven, Conn. – All five starters scored in double figures to lead 11th-ranked Southern Connecticut State University to a 102-66 victory over the Le Moyne College men's basketball team on Sunday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Moore Field House.

Senior guard Naté Gause (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie/Quinnipiac) led four Le Moyne starters in double digits with 15 points, 12 of which he scored in the first half, while recording five rebounds and two steals. Junior guard Qwadere Lovell (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) scored 11 of his 14 points in the opening half. Senior forward Ryan Romich (Groton, Mass./Groton-Dunstable/Vermont Academy) and sophomore forward Stan Buczek (Port Jervis, N.Y./Burke Catholic) each had 10 points, while Romich grabbed nine rebounds, including a career high-tying eight on offensive end.

Luke Houston led all scorers in the game by hitting seven three-pointers en route to 27 points, 16 of which he scored in the second half, while adding five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals. Michael Mallory tallied 23 points, including 14 in the first half, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Stefon Williams posted 16 points, 10 in the first half, and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Deshawn Murphy registered 12 points, while Tylon Smith recorded 11 points, nine assists, five steals and four rebounds.

Southern Connecticut, which advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last year, scored the game's first six points and 10 of the first 12 to force a Le Moyne timeout just 3:24 into the contest. Four Owls scored in the stretch, led by four points from Murphy.

Following baskets by Lovell and Gause to make it a 12-6 game, the Owls scored eight of the next 10 points over just 62 seconds. Houston hit a three-pointer, Mallory made three free throws and then Murphy made a lay-up.

After Gause got the Dolphins within 22-15 with three free throws with 12:15 remaining, Southern Connecticut State ran off 19 of the next 22 points over 6:51 to open up a 23-point advantage. Houston recorded eight of the points, while Mallory and Williams each had four and Smith scored three.

The Dolphins scored 13 of the last 20 points over the final 4:49 of the first half to get within 48-31 at the intermission. Lovell had five of the points, Buczek and junior forward Connor Mahoney (Hanover, Mass./BC High/Brooks School) each had three points and then Romich ended the half with a tip-in at the buzzer.

The Dolphins trimmed their deficit to 16 on three occasions in the first 3:04 of the second half, the last of which came at 52-36 on a Romich put-back dunk, but then Southern Connecticut blew the game open with 19 straight points and 22 of the next 23 points over 4:48. Houston ignited the run with three consecutive three-pointers in a span of 64 seconds. He followed with two free throws, Smith nailed a three-pointer, Mallory hit a trifecta and a jumper in the paint and then Smith capped the outburst with another three-pointer for a 74-37 lead with 12:55 to play.

After back-and-forth play over the next six and one-half minutes, with Southern Connecticut's lead bouncing between 35 and 38 points, Murphy nailed a three-pointer with 6:12 left to give the Owls their largest lead of the contest at 91-51.

The Dolphins, who have lost their last three regular-season games at the Moore Field House by an average of 27.3 points, cut their deficit to 33 on three occasions in the last two and one-half minutes before Jonathan Paul ended the game's scoring with a three-pointer with 33 seconds left.

Le Moyne (8-3, 4-2 NE-10), which falls out of first place in the Southwest Division for the first time this season, returns home for the first time since November 22 on Wednesday, December 31 at 1:00 p.m. against non-conference foe Seton Hill University at the new-look Henninger Athletic Center.
