ROBERTS WESLEYAN RALLIES FOR 3-2 WIN OVER VOLLEYBALL

Syracuse, N.Y. – Courtney Taylor registered 17 kills to lead Roberts Wesleyan College to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team on Wednesday night in non-conference action at Ted Grant Court.

The Dolphins opened the match by the winning the first set by a score of 25-20. The Redhawks answered back with a 25-23 victory in the second set to even the match at one apiece. Le Moyne regained the lead in the match with a 25-21 win in the third set. Roberts Wesleyan stayed alive in the match by scoring the final five points of the fourth set for a 25-21 victory to force the decisive fifth set. The Redhawks used a 6-0 run to turn a 3-2 lead in the fifth set into a seven-point lead en route to a 15-7 win.

Sophomore outside hitter Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) led the Dolphins offensively with a career high-tying 15 kills, while adding 13 digs, three service aces and a pair of block assists. Classmate Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) recorded 13 kills and nine digs, while senior middle hitter Kristen Willets (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) registered 11 kills, four blocks, three digs and two service aces. Senior setter Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 47 assists and 13 digs, while sophomore libero Annie Stoklosa (Victor, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led the Dolphins defensively with 16 digs.

In addition to her match-high 17 kills, Taylor posted six digs and three block assists. Jordan Wilson finished the match with 11 kills and three block assists, while Judy Schultz tallied 10 kills and a pair of digs. Libero Olivia Zureck led the Redhawks defensively with 22 digs and added five assists, while Becca Maher had 13 digs and two service aces. Maggie Concannon directed the Roberts Wesleyan offense with 44 assists.

Le Moyne (2-3), which fell to the Redhawks, 3-1, last year in Rochester, returns to action on Friday against LIU Post at 2:00 p.m. at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational in Wheeling, West Virginia.
