Wheeling, W. Va. – Danielle Valenza registered 15 kills to lead LIU Post to a 3-1 win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team on Friday afternoon on the first day of the Wheeling Jesuit University Invitational at the McDonough Center.
The Pioneers opened the match with a 25-18 victory in the first set. Le Moyne answered back with a 29-27 win in the second set. LIU Post regained the lead by using a 21-3 run in the third set to record a 25-7 victory. The Pioneers used a 12-1 run in the middle of the fourth set en route to closing out the match with a 25-12 win.

Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) registered 10 of Le Moyne's 29 kills to lead the Dolphins offensively. Senior setter
Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) tallied her fifth double-double in six matches with 24 assists and a team high-tying 10 digs, while sophomore
Maura Fay (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall) also had 10 digs.
Valenza recorded six of her match-high kill total in the final set, while adding four blocks assists and three digs. Heather Ball posted 12 kills, five of which came in the opening set, and hit .611 in the match, while tallying eight block assists, three digs and three service aces. Lulu Centro directed the LIU Post offense with 24 assists, while Monica Amador added nine assists and seven kills. Heather Adams led the Pioneers defensively with 14 digs and four block assists, while contributing seven kills and six assists. Analise Austin and Rachel Ringor each chipped in with 11 digs.
Le Moyne (2-4) wraps up action at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational on Saturday by facing Shepherd University at 12:00 p.m. and then taking on the host Cardinals at 4:00 p.m.
