Syracuse, N.Y. – Sophomore outside hitters
Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) and
Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) each recorded double-digit kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Pace University on Friday night in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.
The Dolphins used a 12-3 run over the last half of the first set to turn a four-point deficit into a match-opening 25-20 victory. After the teams split the first 30 points of the second set, the Dolphins registered 10 of the last 13 points to take a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-18 win. The Dolphins put the match away with a 25-20 victory in the third set after using a 4-0 spurt midway through the set to break a tie.
Buchanan led the Dolphins offensively with 11 kills, while adding eight digs and a pair of service aces. Casson recorded six kills in the opening set en route to posting 10 in the match, while adding seven digs and a block. Senior setter
Megan Maisonet (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) tallied her eighth double-double of the season with 32 assists and 15 digs. Sophomore libero
Annie Stoklosa (Victor, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) led the Dolphins defensively with 19 digs, while senior middle hitter
Kristen Willets (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) recorded eight blocks and six kills.
Sydney Lecker led the Setters with seven kills and five digs. Sara Anastasi directed the Pace offense with 15 assists, while Rebecca Italiano led the team defensively with 19 digs.
Le Moyne (3-8, 1-2 NE-10), which snapped a six-match losing streak, wraps up its non-conference slate on Wednesday against Daemen College at 5:00 p.m.
