Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior forward
Kelly Ristoff (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Siena) netted a hat trick to lead the Le Moyne College women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Shepherd University on Monday afternoon in non-conference action at Ted Grant Field.
Ristoff, who found the net in each of Le Moyne's first two games, got the Dolphins on the scoreboard with the only goal they would need just 10:39 into the contest. After collecting the ball on the left side, she dribbled towards the middle of the field and ripped a shot inside the near left post from 22 yards out.
Following 50 minutes of scoreless action, during which Shepherd got off two of the span's three shots, Ristoff extended Le Moyne's lead to two. Sophomore midfielder
Emma Porter (Homer, N.Y./Homer) sent a pass up the middle of the field to Ristoff, who took a touch to the right before slipping a shot inside the near right post from 12 yards out.
Just under three minutes later, Ristoff completed her hat trick by heading the ball into the net at the right post off a corner kick from the left corner by sophomore back
Heidi Stahl (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal).
Junior goalkeeper
Tori Corsaro (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) stopped the only shot she faced to pick up her first win of the season between the pipes. Anna Mueller made one first-half save in the loss for the Rams.
Le Moyne (1-2), which topped the Rams, 3-1, last year in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is back in action on Tuesday at Daemen College at 7:30 p.m.
