Over the opening 10 minutes of the game, the teams went back and forth, resulting in an 11-10 lead for the Dolphins. Lovell and Romich each had four of Le Moyne's points in the span, while Libroia and DeNicola each had four points for the Panthers.
Following a Lovell lay-up to make it 11-10, the Panthers scored nine of the game's next 10 points to take their largest lead of the game. Damon Coleman started the run with a three-pointer and then the Panthers got two points apiece from Boris Fodouop, Anthony Libroia and Duane Morgan.
Le Moyne answered with seven straight points and 11 of the next 13 to regain the lead. Gause had five of the first seven and Mahoney, Romich and Lovell each made shots for a 23-21 lead with 1:04 left in the half.
Kyle McLeggan and Lovell traded shots in the paint in the final 46 seconds to send the teams into the intermission with the Dolphins in front, 25-23.
After Mahoney started the scoring in the second half with a three-pointer, the Panthers responded with eight straight points to take the lead back. Coffey made his three free throws and then buried a three-pointer at the front of the stretch, while DeNicola capped with a lay-up for a 31-28 advantage with 17:55 left.
Gause scored three points over two possessions to tie the game at 31 before the teams traded points, which resulted in ties at 33, 35 and 37.
Following a DeNicola lay-up to knot the score at 37 with 12:48 left, the Dolphins tallied nine of the next 12 points to push their lead to six for the first time. Romich gave his team the lead with a lay-up and freshman guard

After four points from each team over the next 91 seconds, the Panthers got a jumper from Morgan and a three-pointer by Coffey to get within 50-49 with 7:31 to play.
Le Moyne answered back with nine consecutive points over 95 seconds to take its largest lead of the contest. Mahoney started the push with a three-pointer, Lovell followed with two free throws, Gause made a jumper and then Romich registered a fast-break lay-up for a 10-point advantage.
Adelphi countered with 14 of the next 20 points over 4:23 to get within two points. After Libroia made a free throw, Coffey nailed back-to-back three-pointers around a Lovell jumper to trim the deficit in half. Following four points from each team, Coffey buried another three-pointer with 52 seconds to play to make it 65-63.
Lovell beat the shot clock with a lay-up with 20 seconds, while DeNicola countered with a jumper nine seconds later to get the margin back to two.
On the ensuing inbounds play, DeNicola fouled Romich to send him to the foul line for a one-and-one. Romich's first attempt was off the mark and Morgan pulled down the loose ball. Libroia sprinted up court, but Gause blocked his lay-up attempt and Mahoney grabbed the ball and tossed it up court as time expired.
