Syracuse, N.Y. – Four players registered double-digit kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.
Le Moyne opened the match with a 25-19 win in the first set to take a 1-0 lead. After the Owls rallied from a trio of four-point deficits to tie the score at 15, the Dolphins tallied three straight points and 10 of the last 14. The Dolphins doubled their lead with a 29-27 victory in the second set. The Owls used a seven-point jaunt to take an 18-12 advantage, but the Dolphins countered with nine of the next 10 points for a 21-19 edge. The teams then went back and forth before the Dolphins tallied the last three points of the set. Southern Connecticut State stayed alive in the match with a 25-15 win in the third set. The Owls scored the first three points of the set and later used a six-point run to take a 20-9 lead. Le Moyne closed out the victory with a 25-17 win in the fourth set, which included scoring six of the last eight points.

Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) landed a match-high 15 kills to lead the four Dolphins with double-figure kills. She added a pair of service aces and digs. Junior outside hitter
Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) registered her eighth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 12 digs, while posting two blocks and two service aces. Junior outside hitter
Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) tallied her fifth double-double of the campaign with 11 kills and 15 digs. Freshman middle hitter
Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) hit .450 en route to 10 kills, while adding eight digs and two blocks. Sophomore setter
Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) directed the Le Moyne offense with a career high-tying 50 assists, while adding nine digs and two service aces. It's the second time this season Corcoran has dished out 50 assists in a four-set match, a feat which had not happened by a Dolphin since 2007. Freshman libero
Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Dolphins defensively with 25 digs.
Briauna Tutwiler led the Owls in the loss with 10 kills, three digs, three blocks and three service aces. Morgan Carman registered 19 digs to lead four Owls with double-figure digs. Leanna Jadus had 16 digs and eight kills, while Alexandria Jurgens tallied 14 digs. Alexandra Nimz recorded a double-double of 32 assists and 16 digs.
Le Moyne (13-4, 4-1 NE-10), which has won four of its first five conference matches for the first time since the 2005 season, starts a stretch of three straight road matches on Friday at defending regional champion University of New Haven at 7:00 p.m.
