VOLLEYBALL SPLITS TRI-MATCH WITH PACE AND LIU POST

Pleasantville, N.Y. – Junior outside hitter Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) led four Dolphins with double-digit kills as the Le Moyne College volleyball team defeated Pace University, 3-2, on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Goldstein Fitness Center. In their second match of the day, the Dolphins fell to LIU Post, 3-0.

Against the host Setters, the Dolphins took a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-16 win in the first set. Pace evened the match at one set apiece with a 25-17 victory in the second set. Le Moyne regained the lead with a 25-22 win in the third set. The Setters stayed alive by winning the fourth set, 25-13. Le Moyne tallied its fifth straight victory by taking the fifth set, 15-8.


Buchanan registered her fourth double-double of the season with a season-high 15 kills and 16 digs, while adding a pair of blocks. Classmate Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) tallied 14 kills and seven digs, while freshman right side Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) recorded 12 kills and five digs. Sophomore middle hitter Danica Durdines (Alta Loma, Calif./Los Osos) hit .588 en route to 10 kills, while adding six blocks and two digs. Sophomore setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) directed the offense with 48 assists, while adding 14 digs for her fifth double-double of the campaign. Freshman libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Le Moyne defense with 31 digs, which made her the first Dolphin to record at least 30 digs in an NE-10 match since Lindsey Gleason '10 tallied 31 at Saint Rose on September 6, 2006.

Samantha Marquez led the Setters in the setback with a double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs. Mira Wallace directed the Pace offense with 37 assists, while Rebecca Italiano led the defense with 24 digs and Macey Danker added 10 digs.

LIU Post opened the match with a 25-19 victory in the first set to take a 1-0 lead. The Pioneers doubled their lead with a 25-18 win in the second set and put the match away with a 25-16 victory in the third set.

Casson recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs, while Buchanan tallied nine kills and nine digs. Corcoran handed out 31 assists in the match, while Porr had 15 digs and classmate Molly Gallagher (Schenectady, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) tied a career high with 11 digs.

Danielle Valenza led the Pioneers with 16 kills as the player to reach double-figure kills, while adding nine digs. Giulia Genna tallied a double-double with 38 assists and 13 digs. Rachel Londot and Natalie Miller led the Pioneers defensively with 14 and 10 digs, respectively.

Le Moyne (12-4, 3-1 NE-10), which has posted a pair of five-match win streaks for the first time since the 2011 season, returns home to face Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
