Matt Taylor (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Cornell) scored a career-high five goals to lead the third-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 14-5 win over Pace University on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ossining High School.
For the fourth time this season, Taylor got the Dolphins on the scoreboard first with an unassisted tally 2:26 into the game. Just over seven minutes later, Taylor doubled his team's lead with another unassisted marker. Senior attacker
Chris Breiner (Troy, N.Y./Trinity-Pawling) netted his sixth goal of the season with 3:47 remaining in the first quarter. Off the ensuing faceoff, junior defensive midfielder/faceoff specialist
Nick Kline (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) picked up the ball and fed sophomore defensive midfielder
Ryan Desmond (Fairfield, Conn./Ludlowe) for his second goal of the campaign 15 seconds later.
Peter Sharp got the Setters on the scoreboard with his eighth goal of the year with 2:24 remaining in the quarter.
The Dolphins pushed their lead to 6-1 with the first two goals of the second quarter. Junior attackman
Logan Thomas (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.) tallied his 13th goal of the season with 8:36 remaining, while Taylor netted his 12th goal with 4:24 to go.
Trevor Chernoff closed out the scoring in the half with an unassisted goal for the Setters with 3:10 left.

Kevin Kelly (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) found the back of the net with 7:40 remaining after accepting a pass from Breiner. Just 33 seconds later, Taylor scored in a man-up situation off a pass from junior attackman
Mike Jenkins (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa). Just under two and one-half minutes later, Jenkins found Corapi in an extra-man opportunity for his 21st goal of the year. Only 21 seconds later, freshman defensive midfielder
Jake Mortier (North Chili, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) tallied his second goal of the year off a feed from sophomore faceoff specialist

Pace scored the final two goals of the quarter to cut its deficit to six. Matthew Cossidente scored the first in an extra-man situation off a pass from Wyatt Barfoot with 2:38 to go. Cossidente then scored with 15 seconds left after taking a pass from Liam Brennan.
The Dolphins pushed their lead back to eight with two goals over the first 2:11 of the fourth quarter. Taylor netted his fifth goal of the day with 13:32 left, while Corapi scored 43 seconds off a pass from Jenkins in an extra-man situation.
Barfoot finished off Pace's scoring with an unassisted goal with 12:15 left in the game.

Pat Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) and sophomore attackman
Alex O'Brien (Hanson, Mass./Boston College High) combined on the final two goals of the game over the last 2:20. Nowak scored Le Moyne's 13th goal with 2:20 remaining off a pass from O'Brien, while the duo reversed roles with five seconds left.
Senior goalkeeper
Alex Krawec (Kirkville, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa/Onondaga C.C.), who was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, registered 15 saves (against five goals) in 56:31 between the pipes to earn his eighth win of the season. Michael Bonitatibus turned away 16 shots in the loss for the Setters.
Le Moyne (8-1, 6-0 NE-10), which won its seventh straight game – the second-longest active streak in the country, returns home to take on Saint Anselm College on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
