Syracuse, N.Y. – The top-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team clinched its 13th Northeast-10 Conference regular season title with an 18-8 victory over Bentley University on Saturday afternoon Northeast-10 play at Ted Grant Field.
The Dolphins opened the game with the first five goals over 7:28. Senior defenseman
Gerald O'Brien (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic) started the scoring with his first career goal at the 12:39 mark. Just 30 seconds later, senior attackman
Kevin Kelly (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) finished off a feed from graduate student midfielder
Matt Taylor (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Cornell). Senior attackman
Chris Breiner (Troy, N.Y./Trinity-Pawling) gave the Dolphins a 3-0 lead with 10:22 off a pass from senior midfielder
Joe Corapi (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool). Just over two minutes later, Corapi picked up another assist as he fed sophomore midfielder/attackman
Alex O'Brien (Hanson, Mass./Boston College High) in an extra-man situation for his 10th goal of the season. O'Brien then scored an unassisted goal with 7:32 remaining.
Bentley cut into its deficit with two goals over the final 3:22 of the first quarter. Bob Coleman got the Falcons on the board with his second goal of the season, while Matt Sanford tallied his ninth goal of the campaign with 20 seconds left in the quarter.
The Dolphins scored eight unanswered goals in the second quarter. Junior midfielder
Mike Fiorini (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) netted his seventh goal of the campaign just over one minute into the period. Following a save by senior goalkeeper

Brendan Entenmann (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) registered his first collegiate goal with 13:06 left.
Breiner scored the next two goals to give the Dolphins a 9-2 lead. The first came off a feed from Corapi with 8:42 left, while the second was at the 6:58 mark off a transition pass from junior attackman
Logan Thomas (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.). Thomas recorded another assist 71 seconds by finding Kelly for his 29th goal of the year. Following a Bentley turnover, junior defensive midfielder
Nick Kline (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) tallied his sixth marker of the campaign after taking a pass from Kelly.
Kelly finished off a feed from Thomas in an extra-man situation with 1:13 to go, while sophomore midfielder
Brian Rogers (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) completed the scoring in the half with his 23rd goal of the year with under two seconds left.
After Rogers pushed Le Moyne's lead to 14-2 with an unassisted goal with 12:49 left in the third quarter, Bentley scored twice in a span of 62 seconds. Matt Brigham found the back of the net with 11:51 to go, while David Phelps scored for the fourth time this season with 10:49 left.
Corapi (5:20) and Taylor (1:27) scored around a goal by Brigham (3:08) to give the Dolphins a 16-5 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Andrew Jackson (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) scored his first goal of the season with 11:43 left in the fourth quarter. Matt Dente countered for the Falcons 47 seconds later with his 21st goal of the year off a pass from Mike Giorgetti. The Dolphins regained their 12-goal lead as junior midfielder
Pat Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) collected the rebound of a saved shot and dropped the ball into the net with 7:17 remaining.
Bentley scored the final two goals of the game to deliver the final margin. Sanford scored in an extra-man opportunity off a pass from Cutler Dimond with 4:46 to play, while Brady Palmer converted a shot with 23 seconds left.
Krawec recorded eight saves (against four goals) over 39:40 between the pipes to register his 12th win of the season. Classmate
Ben Romagnoli (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia/Syracuse) stopped six shots (against four goals) over the last 20:20. Daniel Shaughnessy tallied nine saves (against 16 goals) over 46:17 in the setback.
Le Moyne (12-1, 10-0 NE-10), which has won 13 of the last 16 Northeast-10 regular season titles, closes out the regular season at Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
