Maggie Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) eclipsed the program's single-season assist record as the fourth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 13-4 win over sixth-ranked and previously-unbeaten Stonehill College on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.
Monnat registered six points in the game on one goal and five assists, the third of which eclipsed the program's single-season record. Whitney Vecchio '08 set the previous mark of 40 during the 2006 season. Junior attacker
Erica Geremia (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee/SUNY Cortland), the reigning Northeast-10 Conference and ECAC Player of the Week, also tallied six points in the game with two goals and four assists. Senior attacker
Julia Suriani (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca East) recorded a team-best four goals to take over the team lead for the season, while senior midfielder
Laura Hoffman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) scored three times.
The teams traded goals over the opening seven minutes of the contest. The Dolphins started the scoring as sophomore midfielder
Molly McGuane (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) found the back of the net just 38 seconds into the game off a pass from Monnat. Lizzie Lane evened the score at one apiece 99 seconds later by converting a free-position shot for her 28th goal of the year. Hoffman put the Dolphins back in front with 25:29 left after collecting a feed from Geremia. Elizabeth Vetter tied the score for the final time with 23:11 remaining off a pass from Cassandra McGill.
The Dolphins tallied the game's next five goals over a span of 10 minutes to take control of the game. Suriani ignited the outburst by finishing off a feed from Monnat with 20:43 left in the first half. Just 59 seconds later, she gave the Dolphins a two-goal lead and forced a Stonehill timeout after accepting a pass from Geremia. The duo hooked up again 3:10 later to make it 5-2 with 16:34 left in the half. Senior midfielder
Catie McKay (Penfield, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) got into the scoring column for the second time this season with 13:35 left, while Geremia capped the streak with 10:28 remaining after taking a pass from Monnat.
After Rebecca Matheson scored Stonehill's first goal in 16:15, the Dolphins answered back 15 seconds later as freshman attacker
Abbie McEntee (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) scored in front of the crease off a pass from Monnat with 6:41 to play. Hoffman then scored from the right edge of the crease with 5:15 remaining to give the Dolphins a 9-3 advantage.
Vetter completed the scoring in the half with her second goal of the day off a pass from McGill with 1:38 left.
Hoffman pushed Le Moyne's lead to six for the second time by finishing off a pass from Monnat 2:34 into the second half.
The Skyhawks scored the next two goals to trim their deficit to four. McGill recorded her first goal of the afternoon with 24:07 left to make it 10-5. Following a Le Moyne turnover behind the goal, Vetter got the Skyhawks within four with 22:16 left after taking a pass from Brooke Rudden, who was held to just one point after entering the game with 46, the fifth-most in the Northeast-10.
Le Moyne countered with three goals over 3:50 to regain control of the contest. Monnat started the run by firing in a shot from the left side after receiving a pass from Geremia with 18:53 left. Just under two minutes later, Suriani recorded her team-best 39th goal of the campaign off a feed from McKay. Geremia completed Le Moyne's scoring with her 38th tally of the season with 15:03 remaining.
Stonehill netted the final two goals over the game to cut its deficit to five. Vetter scored for the third time off a pass from McGill with 12:58 left, while McGill found the back of the net with 2:53 remaining.

Molly Marbut (Edgewater, Md./South River) registered three saves en route to earning her 11th victory of the season. Ashley Armstrong made five saves in the loss for the Skyhawks.
Le Moyne (11-1, 8-0 NE-10), which has won eight straight games, the fourth-longest active streak in the country, returns to action on Saturday at first-year program Pace University at 2:00 p.m. at Pace Field in Briarcliff, N.Y.
