DAEMEN RALLIES FOR 3-2 VICTORY OVER VOLLEYBALL

Amherst, N.Y. – Amber and Ashley Drzymala combined for 49 kills to lead Daemen College to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Le Moyne College volleyball team on Wednesday night at Lumsden Gymnasium.

The Dolphins took the lead in the match with a 25-23 victory in the first set. They doubled their advantage with a 25-21 win in the second set. The Wildcats started their comeback with a 25-18 victory in the third set. Daemen evened the match at two sets apiece by registering a 26-24 win in the fourth set. The Wildcats completed their comeback with a 15-10 victory in the decisive fifth set.

Junior outside hitte Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) led the Dolphins in the setback with a double-double of 12 kills and 10 digs in her return to Western New York, while adding two service aces. Freshman middle hitter Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) recorded her second straight double-digit kill performance with 10, while adding four blocks and two digs. Sophomore setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) directed Le Moyne's offense with 37 assists and posted 11 digs for her second consecutive double-double. Freshman libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the team defensively with 22 digs, while junior outside hitter Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) had 11 digs and eight kills.

Amber Drzymala, a junior, tallied 25 kills with a .281 hitting percentage and posted eight digs, while Ashley Drzymala, a freshman, registered 24 kills with a .283 hitting percentage and recorded nine digs. Ye Wang was the third Wildcat with double-digit kills with 10. Katie McKrell paced the Daemen offense with 57 assists and added 16 digs on the defensive end. Libero Kailey Ballou led the Wildcats defensively with 22 digs and added five service aces.
 
Le Moyne (7-2), which has dropped back-to-back matches, opens Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday at Adelphi University at 11:00 a.m. The Dolphins follow their match with the Panthers with a non-conference affair against Molloy College at 1:00 p.m.
