VOLLEYBALL RECORDS 3-2 WIN OVER ROBERTS WESLEYAN IN RETURN HOME

Syracuse, N.Y. – Sophomore right side Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) tallied a career high-tying 21 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-2 victory over Roberts Wesleyan College in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at the recently-renovated Ted Grant Court.

The Dolphins withstood a late rally by the Redhawks in the first set to record a 26-24 victory. Roberts Wesleyan evened the match at one apiece by holding off a 9-1 Le Moyne rally for a 25-22 win in the second set. Le Moyne regained the lead in the match with a 25-17 victory in the third set. The Redhawks overcame three match points in the fourth set to record a 27-25 win. The Dolphins closed out the match with a 15-9 win in the fifth set.

Miller tallied six kills in each of the third and fourth sets en route to recording 21 kills in a match for the third time in her career. With her three, she is tied with head coach Lizzie Cheek '10 for the most 21-kill matches in a two-season span over the last 14 years. Miller also tallied a career-best six blocks and five digs in the victory. Senior outside hitter Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) recorded her seventh double-double of the season and fifth straight with 16 kills and a career-best 20 digs. With her second kill of the match, she moved in front of Jenny Wilson '99 for fifth on the program's career kills chart and finished the match with 1054. Classmate Andrea Buchanan (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) was the third Dolphin to post double-digit kills with 12. Junior setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) registered her team-best eighth double-double of the year with 59 assists, the second-highest total of her career, and a career-high 19 digs, while adding three service aces and three blocks. Sophomore libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Dolphins defensively with 38 digs, the second-highest total of her career and the second-most by a Dolphin over the last 14 seasons. Sophomore Molly Gallagher (Schenectady, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) contributed a career-best 15 digs, while sophomore middle blocker Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) registered a career-best nine blocks, which are tied for the sixth-most by a Dolphin over the last 14 seasons and are the most since Morgan McDermott '13 tallied 12 at Southern Connecticut State on October 7, 2012.

Courtney Taylor led the Redhawks in the loss with 12 kills, three blocks and three digs. Kristina Button posted 11 kills, four blocks and four digs. Elisabeth Rivera registered a double-double with 48 assists and 11 digs. Olivia Zureck led the Redhawks defensively with 27 digs, while Alexandre Tahauri recorded 20 digs, nine kills and three service aces. Rachel Holmes and Shelby Strausbaugh each turned in 14 digs.
