VOLLEYBALL SPLITS WITH SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE, 1-3, AND FELICIAN, 3-1

New Haven, Conn. – Senior outside hitter Natalie Casson (Kingman, Ariz./Kingman) recorded 15 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Felician University on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Southern Connecticut State University's Pelz Gymnasium. Earlier in the day, the Dolphins dropped their first Northeast-10 Conference match of the season, 3-1, to Southern Connecticut State University.

In the second match of the day, Felician took a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-23 victory in the first set after jumping out to a 10-1 lead in the set. The Dolphins answered back with a 25-12 win in the second set to even the match at one apiece. They followed with another 25-12 victory in the third set to take a 2-1 lead. Le Moyne closed out the match with a 25-15 victory in the fourth set.
 
Casson registered her fourth straight double-double and her sixth of the season with 15 kills and 12 digs, while adding four service aces. Sophomore right side Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) recorded a .429 hitting percentage en route to 12 kills, seven of which came in the second set, while posting three service aces and two blocks. Junior setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) directed the offense by dishing out 36 assists and added eight digs, while sophomore libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Dolphins defensively with 20 digs.

Paulina Calero led the Golden Falcons in the setback with eight kills and eight digs. Charlotte Greek passed out 13 assists, while Amanda Coccia tallied 16 digs and Lanyse Castro recorded 11 digs.

Against Southern Connecticut State, the Dolphins dropped the first set, 25-15. Le Moyne answered back in the second set with a 25-18 victory in the second set to knot the match at one apiece. The Owls regained the lead in the match with a 25-18 win in the third set. Southern Connecticut held off the Dolphins in the fourth set to close out the match with a 27-25 win.

Casson tallied her first double-double of the day with 14 kills and 17 digs to lead the Dolphins, while Miller registered 11 kills and three blocks. Corcoran registered her team-best seventh double-double of the season with 45 assists and 13 digs. Porr led five Dolphins with double-figure digs with 26 digs, her seventh match this season with at least 20 digs. Senior defensive specialist Maura Fay (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall) and sophomore defensive specialist Molly Gallagher (Schenectady, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) each recorded 10 digs.

Alexandria Jurgens led the Owls to the victory with a triple-double of 11 kills, 19 assists and 12 digs. Leanna Jadus also posted a double-double with 13 kills and 21 digs. Splitting the setting duties with Jurgens, Alexandra Nimz dished out 26 assists. Anna Venard and Bridgette Walsh contributed defensively with 14 and 13 digs, respectively.

Le Moyne (13-4, 4-1 NE-10), which had a five-match win streak snapped by the Owls, returns to action on Wednesday by hosting Roberts Wesleyan College at 7:00 p.m. at the recently-renovated Henninger Events Center.
