SECOND-RANKED MEN’S LACROSSE REGISTERS 17-2 WIN AT AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL

Springfield, Mass. – Junior attackman Cade Kelleher (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic) recorded a career-high five points to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 17-2 win at American International College on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Abdow Field.

The Dolphins scored five goals in the first quarter en route to netting the first 10 goals of the game. Senior attackman Logan Thomas (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.) started the scoring at the 11:47 mark of the first quarter after taking a pass from sophomore midfielder Bailey Wilkinson (Black River, N.Y./Carthage). Just 31 seconds later, sophomore attackman/midfielder Justin Kesselring (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) tallied his 11th goal of the season off a feed from senior midfielder Mike Fiorini (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse). Kelleher registered his first goal of the game with 5:40 left after collecting a pass from Kesselring. Thomas then tallied his team-best 16th goal of the season with 4:04 left, while Kelleher finished off the scoring in the first quarter with 3:03 left after taking another pass from Kesselring.

Fiorini got the scoring started in the second quarter with an unassisted goal 2:14 into the period. Kelleher gave the Dolphins a 7-0 lead 56 seconds later, while senior attackman Pat Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) followed with an unassisted goal with 10:25 left. Freshman attackman Jack Vajda (Clinton, N.J./Rutgers Prep) tallied his first career goal with 9:11 remaining after taking a pass from Kelleher, who then capped the game-opening run with 8:12 left off a feed from Kesselring.

Kevin Papineau got the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal with 5:47 left in the half.

Senior midfielder Nick Kline (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) pushed Le Moyne's lead back to 10 just 42 seconds later after taking a pass from sophomore Greg White (Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols School). Freshman midfielder Josh Slowinski (Williamsville, N.Y./Clarence) gave the Dolphins a 12-1 lead with his second goal of the season with 3:21 remaining.

AIC started the scoring in the third quarter as Jack McIntyre netted an unassisted goal 1:47 into the period.

The Dolphins scored the final five goals of the game to deliver the final score. Sophomore midfielder Luke Bartkoski (Victor, N.Y./Victor) tallied his first goal of the season with 10:03 remaining in the third off a pass from White. Vajda then scored with 6:45 left after taking a feed from freshman Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili).

In the fourth quarter, White scored off a pass from Bartkoski, Slowinski found the back of the net after taking a pass from Cosgrove and Vajda finished the scoring off a pass from Slowinski.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Alex Krawec (Kirkville, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa/Onondaga C.C.) turned away the only two shots he faced over 18:47 between the pipes to earn his sixth victory of the season. John Magliano registered 11 saves in the loss for the Yellow Jackets.

Le Moyne (6-0, 2-0 NE-10), which has won 17 straight Northeast-10 Conference games, returns home to face Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
