Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. – Three Dolphins homered as the Le Moyne College softball team registered a 10-2 win in five innings over Assumption College in the second round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Friday afternoon at Pace University's Pace Field.
With the victory, the Dolphins, the second seed from the Southwest Division, advance to the semifinals against Southern New Hampshire University, the top seed from the Northeast Division, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Caitlin Mirabell singled to center with one out and moved to second on a walk by second baseman

Kayli Moniz followed with a double down the left field line to drive in Mirabell. First baseman
Stephanie Menard then grounded out to the third baseman to plate Abad.
The Dolphins exploded for six runs on four hits and two Assumption errors in the second inning. Freshman second baseman
Tess Andrews (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) led off the frame by blasting the first pitch over the fence in center field for her fourth home run of the season. Senior designated player
Mackenzie Dreher (Hinckley, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) then drew a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. After senior first baseman
Cara Cawley (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) singled up the middle to advance Dreher to third, Dreher scored as senior left fielder
Allison Reynolds (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) reached on a throwing error by the shortstop. Junior shortstop
Courtney Case (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) followed with a single down the left field line to drive in Cawley from second. After a strikeout, junior third baseman
Kelly Mascari (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Buffalo) launched her team-best ninth home run of the season to give the Dolphins a 6-2 lead.
Le Moyne (30-14) used three hits to extend its lead to 8-2 in the fourth inning. Reynolds led off with a single to center and took second on a groundout. After senior right fielder
Kirsten Trotta (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. Dupont) singled to right and stole second, Mascari walked on four pitches to load the bases. Junior center fielder
Sabrina Riley (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) then doubled to right center to knock in Reynolds and Trotta.
The Dolphins ended the game with two runs on two hits in the fifth inning. After junior catcher
Emily Bagley (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) singled to the shortstop to open the frame, Cawley homered to right field to end the game.
Sophomore pitcher
Alexis Eastman (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) earned her conference-best 19th win of the season after striking out five over three innings in the circle. Kendal Roy took the loss after allowing eight runs (five earned) on seven hits over three and one-third innings, while striking out five.
