Maggie Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) recorded eight points to lead the second-ranked and second-seeded Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 15-4 victory over seventh-seeded American International College in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Wednesday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.
With the victory, the Dolphins advance to the semifinals for the fifth time in their six years in the conference and will take on third-seeded Bentley University at top-ranked and top-seeded Adelphi University on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
The Dolphins took control of the game early with three goals over the first 5:17 of the contest. Monnat got the Dolphins on the scoreboard with her 34th goal of the season 2:29 into the game. Just 21 seconds later, junior defender

Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) capped the opening streak with her 47th goal of the year with 24:43 left after taking a pass in transition from senior attacker

Cheyenne Carden got the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard with 24:19 remaining with an unassisted tally.
Le Moyne responded with the next four goals to open up a 7-1 lead. Geremia started the run with her 51st goal of the campaign with 22:36 to go, while Monnat followed with her second goal of the day 44 seconds later. Just over four and one-half minutes later, sophomore
Jacqueline Pardee (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) scored from in front of the net off a pass from Geremia. Monnat recorded another goal 28 seconds later.
Riley Brennan countered with her 38th marker of the season with 14:32 left in the half after taking a feed from Kelly Reilly.
The Dolphins used another 4-0 run to take an 11-2 lead into halftime. Fazio made the score 8-2 with 13:15 remaining after collecting a pass from Monnat. The duo then reversed roles with 11:02 left. Geremia got the Dolphins into double-digits with 4:27 to go, while Monnat completed the scoring in the half after receiving a feed from Graveline.
Brennan started the scoring in the second half by finishing off a pass from Stefanie Dufresne 2:12 into the period.
Monnat pushed Le Moyne's lead back to nine with 26:59 left, while she fed Geremia for her 53rd goal of the year with 25:41 remaining. With the goal, Geremia moved past Claire Petersen, who split her career between Adelphi and Stony Brook, and into third place on the NCAA's all-time points list across all divisions with her 483 point over her collegiate career at Cortland (260) and Le Moyne (223).
Freshman midfielder
Kasi Cabrey (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) extended the lead to 14-3 with 19:12 remaining with her eighth goal of the year off a feed from Fazio.
Carden converted a free-position shot with 13:15 to play for American International's final goal, while junior midfielder
Molly McGuane (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) completed the game's scoring with her 13th goal of the year.
Senior goalkeeper
Ryan Cortese (Brewerton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) registered nine saves over 53:18 between the pipes to earn her 15th victory of the year. Alexis Torosian also finished the game with nine saves for the Yellow Jackets.
