VOLLEYBALL REGISTERS 14TH STRAIGHT WIN OVER SAINT ANSELM, 3-0

Syracuse, N.Y. – Three Dolphins recorded double-digit kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Friday afternoon at Ted Grant Court.

The Dolphins opened the match with a 25-16 win in the first set, which included 5-0 and 6-1 runs early in the set. Le Moyne doubled its lead in the match by scoring six of the final nine points of the second set for a 25-21 victory. The Dolphins jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the third set and held off a Saint Anselm rally en route to a 25-21 win to close out the match.

Juniors Marguerite Dillon (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) and Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) led the Dolphins in the match with 11 kills each. Dillon added 15 digs for her team-best eighth double-double of the season, while Miller hit .733 and did not commit an error in 15 swings. Junior outside hitter Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) registered 10 kills, two blocks and two digs, while sophomore middle blocker Jacquelyne Ghindia (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita) hit .500 en route to nine kills and added two blocks and two digs. Senior setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) dished out 27 assists, while freshman setter Emily Yancone (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) handed out 20 assists. Junior libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) turned in 12 digs to join Dillon with double figure digs.

Katy Teets led the Hawks in the setback with a match-high 13 kills, while adding eight digs and two blocks. Jewel Hays directed the offense with 26 assists, while posting seven digs.
 
Le Moyne (9-10, 2-5 NE10), which has won 14 straight matches over the Hawks, returns to the court on Saturday against Saint Michael's College at 12:00 p.m.
