VOLLEYBALL PICKS UP FIRST NE10 WIN, 3-0, OVER SAINT ROSE

Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior middle blocker Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) tallied 15 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday evening at Ted Grant Court.
 
The Dolphins opened the match by winning the back-and-forth first set, 26-24, after tallying the final five points of the set. Le Moyne scored the first three points of the second set and seven of the first nine en route to taking a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-17 victory in the set. After the teams split the first 26 points of the third set, the Dolphins scored four straight points to take the lead for good. The teams alternated points before the Dolphins posted the final two points of the evening for a 25-22 win in the set.

Hafoka hit .306 en route to her match-high kill total, which included five kills in the first set and six kills on 11 swings in the third set. Junior outside hitter Marguerite Dillon (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) registered her team-best sixth double-double of the season with 11 kills, including four in each of the first and second sets, and 11 digs, including six in the second set. Senior setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) facilitated the offense with 39 assists, while adding eight digs and two service aces. Junior libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Dolphins defensively with 23 digs, including 10 in the first set, while posting two service aces.

Stevie Schweitzer led the Golden Knights in the loss with 10 kills and seven digs. Sam Kubik finished the evening with a double-double of 28 assists and 11 digs, while adding five kills, two blocks and two service aces. Tine Ceriello recorded a team-high 12 digs, including eight in the first set.

Le Moyne (8-7, 1-3 NE10), which defeated the Golden Knights for the fourth straight time, hosts Assumption College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
