MEN'S TENNIS TOPS SAINT MICHAEL'S, 9-0, IN RETURN TO NE10 ACTION

DeWitt, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team returned to Northeast-10 Conference action with a 9-0 win over Saint Michael's College on Sunday morning at Gold's Gym.

At the top spot of the doubles competition, freshman Philip Blythe (Edinburgh, Scotland/Merchiston) and junior Hallam Doney (Andover, Hampshire/Peter Symonds) registered an 8-1 win over Ben Lambert and Hayden Steward. Freshman Josh Sagaille (Schenectady, N.Y./Justine Henin Academy (Belgium)) and junior Jason Barton (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee) also were 8-1 winners, topping Dan Foley and Max Allen at the second position. Senior James Gayvert (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and sophomore Tyler Underwood (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) completed the doubles sweep with a third 8-1 victory over Matt Mosher and Forrest Owen.

The Dolphins won all six singles matches in straight sets. In his conference debut, Blythe recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win at the top spot over Lambert. Gayvert picked up his fourth win of the year with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the second position against Patrick Dietz. Doney improved to 5-0 at the third spot with consecutive scores of 6-0 against Steward. Sagaille earned his third win of his career with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mosher at the fourth position. Senior Steven Procopio (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) won his third straight match, 6-3, 6-0, over Foley at the fifth spot. Senior Benjamin Spoor (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) completed the sweep with back-to-back scores of 6-1 against Owen at the sixth position.
 
Le Moyne (4-1, 2-0 NE10) returns to the courts on Monday, March 6 against Post University at Gold's Gym at 10:30 a.m.
