Sparks, Md. – Sophomore attacker Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) registered seven points to lead the third-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to an 18-5 win over 12th-ranked Grand Valley State University on Thursday afternoon at US Lacrosse's William G. Tierney Field.

The Dolphins, who defeated the Lakers at home each of the last two years, opened the scoring just 40 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal by senior midfielder Vicki Graveline (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee). Classmate Molly McGuane (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) doubled the lead 54 seconds later by converting a free-position shot.

Abbi O'Neal got Grand Valley State on the scoreboard with 27:45 left in the first half.

Le Moyne answered with four straight goals to take control of the game. Sophomore attacker Maddie Knapp (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) started the run at the 22:22 mark with a free-position goal. Fazio followed with her first goal of the day 2:43 later. Graveline tallied her fourth goal of the season at the 16:36 mark to force a Grand Valley State timeout. Just under five minutes later, Fazio gave the Dolphins a 6-1 lead with an unassisted tally.

Grand Valley State cut its deficit to four with 3:50 left in the half on a free-position goal by Kira Dosenberry.

Le Moyne scored three times in the last 95 seconds of the half to take a 9-2 lead into halftime. Fazio started the span with an extra-player goal and Knapp followed 30 seconds later with an unassisted marker. Junior attacker Jacqueline Pardee (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) capped the scoring in the half with a put-back goal with one second left.

Fazio pushed Le Moyne's run to four straight goals with an unassisted goal 1:53 into the second half.

Dosenberry got her team on the board in the second half with an unassisted goal with 24:39 to play.

The Dolphins responded with three goals over 4:04 to take their first double-digit lead of the game. Knapp finished off a feed from Fazio at the 20:33 mark to start the streak. Senior attacker Alexis Garbarino (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) then found the back of the net for the first time this season off a pass from Knapp. Sophomore defender Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) put the Dolphins up 13-3 with 15:56 to play.

Sarah Stagaard got the Lakers within single digits with a free-position goal with 14:56 left, but the Dolphins countered with two goals.
