Syracuse, N.Y. – Senior catcher Gabe Levanti (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Northeastern) had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Le Moyne College baseball team to a 10-1 win over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division action on Wednesday afternoon at Dick Rockwell Field.

After three scoreless innings to start the game, the Dolphins exploded for five runs in each of the next two innings. Following a single to center by sophomore third baseman Camillo Spinoso (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/Northeastern) and a walk by sophomore designated hitter Nick Place (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) to open the frame, junior left fielder JT Pittman (Ashland, Mass./Ashland/Bridgton Academy) launched his team-best sixth home run of the season over the wall in right center. On the next pitch, Levanti blasted his second home run of the year to left field. After three straight walks to load the bases around a pitching change, junior first baseman Brian Cox (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to drive in sophomore shortstop Josiah Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle).

Saint Rose answered with one run in the top of the fifth. Designated hitter Kenny Fils-Aime drew a walk with two outs, moved to second on a single through the right side by second baseman Andrew Pedone and took third on a throwing error by the catcher on a pickoff attempt at first base. Fils-Aime then raced home on a wild pitch.

Le Moyne tallied five runs in the bottom of the fifth on four hits. After an out to start the frame, Place and Pittman drew walks and moved up a base on a wild pitch. Levanti then singled to center to plate Place and Pittman. Gray followed with a single through the left side to knock in Levanti and force a pitching change. After a single to center by redshirt senior right fielder Mark Martin (Sauquoit, N.Y./Sauquoit Valley/Bryant), senior center fielder Donato DiNorcia (Naples, Fla./Seacrest Country Day) doubled down the right field line to drive in Gray and Martin with the final runs of the game.

Freshman righty Chase Borowitz (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay) improved to 3-1 on the season after striking out six over seven innings, while yielding just an unearned run and four hits. Gray joined Levanti in posting multiple hits, while Pittman also had three RBI. Steven Burke suffered the loss after giving up five runs over three and one-third innings.

Le Moyne (25-12, 12-4 NE10, 9-3 SW), which is ranked fifth in the first NCAA East Region rankings of the year, returns to action on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the University of New Haven, which is ranked eighth in the East Region, which is the first spot out of the expected field.
