THIRD-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE TOPS 12TH-RANKED NEW HAVEN, 14-11, IN BATTLE OF UNBEATENS

West Haven, Conn. – Senior midfielder Vicki Graveline (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) registered seven points to lead the third-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 14-11 victory over 12th-ranked University of New Haven in a battle of unbeaten teams on Saturday afternoon at Kayo Field.

The Dolphins opened the game with the first five goals. Graveline started the outburst with her 21st tally of the season 1:33 into the game. Freshman attacker Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) doubled the lead with 26:46 left in the half with her 18th goal of the year. Graveline followed with another goal at the 25:01 mark to force a New Haven timeout. Following back-and-forth play over the next seven minutes, Graveline found the back of the net for the third time in the game with 17:40 remaining in the half. Freshman midfielder Nicole Delany (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) capped the game-opening streak with her 14th marker of the season with 14:56 left after taking a pass from Hall.

New Haven countered with back-to-back goals four and one-half minutes apart. Kendall Cietek got the Chargers on the scoreboard with 14:04 to go by converting a free-position shot. She then fed Caitlin O'Brien for her 22nd goal of the season with 9:26 left in the half.

Le Moyne answered back with a pair of goals in a span of 24 seconds. With 8:14 left, Delany finished off a feed from Hall, who then netted her second goal of the day with 7:50 remaining in the period.

Hailey Rattigan got the Chargers back within four with a free-position goal with 6:45 left, but the Dolphins answered with the final four goals of the half. After winning the ensuing draw, Graveline scored 33 seconds later to start the run. Delany made the score 9-3 with 2:22 left after taking a feed from freshman attacker Anna Mazurkiewicz (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker). Delany tallied her fourth goal of the half 35 seconds later off a pass from Graveline. Sophomore attacker Maddie Knapp (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) capped the half's scoring with 10 seconds left after receiving a pass from sophomore defender Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford).

The Chargers started the scoring in the second half as O'Brien finished off a pass from Jessica Mazliah 1:56 into the period.

The Dolphins responded with back-to-back goals to take their largest lead of the game. Graveline tallied her team-best 25th goal of the year with 26:49 to go and then senior attacker Alexis Garbarino (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) netted her career-high 13th goal of the campaign 75 seconds later after collecting a feed from Hall.

New Haven rattled off six straight goals over a span of 14:25 to trim its deficit to three. O'Brien started the run with an unassisted goal with 24:58 remaining. Zoe Wilkins followed with her first goal of the year 3:16 later to force a Le Moyne timeout.
