Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) tallied 20 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-1 come-from-behind victory at Roberts Wesleyan College on Wednesday night at the Voller Athletic Center.
Roberts Wesleyan opened the match with a 25-23 victory in the first set after scoring the final seven points of the set. The Dolphins answered back with a 25-15 victory in the second set to even the match at one apiece. Le Moyne tallied the final four points of the third set to post a 25-17 win and take a 2-1 lead in the match. The Dolphins used a 13-4 run midway through the fourth set en route to closing out the match with a 25-12 victory.
Miller added four digs and four blocks to her match-high kill total, while hitting at a .581 clip. She tallied six kills in the first set and followed with seven in the second set. With her final kill of the match, she passed former teammate
Andrea Buchanan '17 for 16th place on the program's career kills list with her 744th. Classmate
Marguerite Dillon (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) registered 11 kills and nine digs. Senior setter
Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) dished out 47 assists, while posting seven digs, four kills and two service aces. Junior libero
Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the defense with 23 digs, eight of which came in the second set.
Emily Rowlison led the Redhawks in the defeat with 10 kills. Elisabeth Rivera and Nikki Simmonds split the setting duties with 20 and 13 assists, respectively. Shelby Strausbaugh led the defense with 12 digs.
Le Moyne (5-4), which defeated the Redhawks for the fourth straight time, opens Northeast-10 Conference action and its home schedule on Saturday against Southern Connecticut State University at 2:00 p.m.
