Waterbury, Conn. – Three Dolphins each landed at least 14 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Post University on Friday evening in non-conference action at the Drubner Center.
The Eagles used a 9-0 run midway through the first set to take a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-15 victory. Le Moyne answered back with six of the final seven points in the second set to record a 26-24 win and tie the match at one apiece. Post regained the lead in the match with a 25-20 victory in the third set after tallying six of the last seven points. The Dolphins stayed alive in the match by using a 10-2 run early in the fourth set en route to a 25-17 win. Le Moyne closed out the match with nine of the last 11 points of the fifth set for a 15-10 victory.

Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South), who registered double-digit kills for the 10th time in 13 matches, registered a match-best 18 kills, while adding three digs and two blocks. She tallied six of her kills in the fourth set and three in the fifth set. Junior outside hitter
Marguerite Dillon (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) recorded 16 kills, including four in each of the third and fourth sets, and posted six digs. Sophomore middle blocker
Jacquelyne Ghindia (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita) registered a career-high 14 kills, including four in the second set and five in the fourth set, while adding four blocks. Senior setter
Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) directed the offense with 58 assists, while posting eight digs. Junior libero
Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led all players defensively in the match with 32 digs, including nine in the fourth set and five each in the second and fifth sets. Sophomore defensive specialist
Claire Hiwiller (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) posted 14 digs.
Madison Hunziker led the Eagles in the setback with a double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs. Sarah Seger also tallied a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs. Kyla Knight was the third Eagle with double-figure kills with 10. Brianna Root was the fourth Eagle with a double-double with 43 assists and 12 digs, while adding three kills and three blocks. Sarah Ryder led Post on the defensive side with 21 digs.
Le Moyne (7-6), which fell to the Eagles, 3-0, the opening weekend of the season last year, returns to Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday at the University of New Haven at 1:00 p.m.
