VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT NE10-LEADING NEW HAVEN, 3-0

West Haven, Conn. – Alex Bussey registered 11 kills to lead the University of New Haven to a 3-0 victory over the Le Moyne College volleyball team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the just-named Deborah Chin Court.

After the teams split the opening 32 points of the first set, the Chargers tallied nine of the last 10 points, including the final six, to take a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-17 victory. New Haven used a 7-1 run midway through the second set en route to taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-18 win. The Chargers closed out the victory with a 25-22 win in the third set, which included scoring eight of the last 13 points.
 
Junior right side Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) was the only Dolphins with double-digit kills with a match-high 12, while hitting .429. Senior setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) facilitated the offense with 33 assists, while adding seven digs. Junior libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) was the only Dolphins with twin figure digs with 14.

Bussey hit .368 en route to her team-best 11, while adding two blocks and two digs. Kristine Rios registered 31 assists, seven digs and six kills. Lindsey Kim led the Chargers defensively with 19 digs.
 
Le Moyne (7-7, 0-3 NE10) returns home to host The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
