VOLLEYBALL OPENS FINAL ROAD WEEKEND WITH 3-0 WIN AT BENTLEY

Waltham, Mass. – Senior right side Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) registered 18 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Friday evening at the Dana Center.

After falling behind 17-14 in the first set, the Dolphins scored seven straight points and 11 of the last 14 for a 25-20 victory to open the match. Le Moyne doubled its lead in the match by scoring six of the last eight points in the second set for a 25-18 win. The Dolphins closed out the match with a 25-13 victory in the third set after scoring 14 of the last 19 points.

Miller, who hit a season-best .515, recorded the highest kill total in her 47 career three-set matches. The 18 kills, seven of which came in the second set, are the most by a Dolphin in a three-set match in the 25-point scoring era (2008-present) and are tied for the fourth-most by a Dolphin over the last 16 seasons. She also added a solo block and three block assists to finish the match with 20.5 points, the most by a Dolphin in a three-set match in the 25-point scoring era. Sophomore setter Emily Yancone (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) tallied her team-best ninth double-double of the season with 35 assists and 10 digs, while adding a pair of service aces. Senior libero Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led all players in the match with 21 digs, including nine in the second set.

Kirsten Segaline led the Falcons in the loss with nine kills, including four in the third set. Krista Campbell dished out 19 assists and posted seven digs. Emily Barthelmes led the team defensively with nine digs, including four in the first set.

Le Moyne (12-9, 4-7 NE10) concludes the road portion of its schedule on Saturday at Stonehill College at 2:00 p.m.
