SWIMMING & DIVING TEAMS SWEPT BY BENTLEY

Waltham, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams were upended by Bentley University on Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool. The Falcons topped the women, 174-108, and were 189-85 winners against the men.

Sophomore Haley Synan (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) led the women's team on the afternoon with three first place finishes. Her first win of the day came in the 1000-yard freestyle, where she touched in at 11:02.05, over 13 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Eight events later in the 200-yard butterfly, she finished in 2:11.02, which was 2.44 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. In her final top finish of the day, Synan clocked in at 1:01.03 in the 100-yard butterfly.

Freshman Claire Rejman (Scipio Center, N.Y./Southern Cayuga) was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle after posting a time of 25.59 seconds.
 
Freshman Jordyn Sommo (Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland) picked up first-place points in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:24.90.

The quartet of Rejman, Synan and juniors Jamie Alexander (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) and Haley Decker (Vernon, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) won the meet-ending 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:44.04.
 
On the men's side, sophomore Austin Richardson (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) earned Le Moyne's first win of the day as he was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle by over four seconds with a time of 10:20.69.

Freshman Brandon Bardin (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) collected first-place points with a time of 2:06.92 in the 200-yard IM.
 
The team of junior Matthew Walton (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury), freshman Joe Trembley (Canajoharie N.Y./Canajoharie), sophomore Nathan Gdula (Warners, N.Y./West Genesee) and freshman Alex Turczyn (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) posted a time of 1:30.43 and earned first-place points in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
 
The Dolphins return to action at Ithaca College on Friday, November 9 at 6:00 p.m.
