Syracuse, N.Y. – Freshman
Brandon Bardin (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) won three events in his home debut, but the Le Moyne College men's swimming and diving team fell to the Rochester Institute of Technology, 161.5-126.5, on Saturday afternoon at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool. The women fell to the Tigers, 181-113.
Bardin, whose three wins included sweeping the butterfly events, claimed first place in the 200-yard butterfly by over two and one-half seconds by touching the wall in 2:03.15. He then won the 100-yard butterfly by 1.19 seconds with a time of 54.80 seconds. Two events later, he was victorious in the 200-yard IM by over two and one-half seconds with a time of 2:04.99.
Sophomore
Austin Richardson (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) earned his first win of the day by topping the field in the 1000-yard freestyle by over four seconds with a time of 10:14.23. He completed a sweep of the distance freestyle events by recording a time of 4:55.64 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Junior
Matthew Walton (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle by touching the wall in 1:47.93, just under two seconds faster than the second-place finisher. He posted another almost two second victory with a time of 48.06 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Junior
Michael Dierolf (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown) won the 100-yard breaststroke by just 0.30 seconds with a time of 1:02.08.

Eric Burdge (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) won the meet-ending 200-yard freestyle relay by just 0.11 seconds with a time of 1:29.03.
On the women's side, the Dolphins registered three victories. Sophomore
Haley Synan (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) captured the 200-yard butterfly by almost nine seconds with a time of 2:11.31. She registered a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:28.00, over seven seconds faster than second place.
Freshman
Claire Rejman (Scipio Center, N.Y./Southern Cayuga) earned her first home victory by posting a time of 25.48 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to win by just 0.16 seconds.
The Dolphins are back in action at home on Saturday against The College of Saint Rose at 1:00 p.m.
