Albany, N.Y. – Zoe McDonald made a free throw with 1.5 seconds left to give The College of Saint Rose a 53-52 come-from-behind win over the Le Moyne College women's basketball team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday evening at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
Junior guard
McKayla Roberts (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) led the Dolphins in the setback with 19 points, including nine in the third quarter, seven assists and three steals. Graduate student forward
Corinne Poitevien (Bardonia, N.Y./Paramus Catholic (N.J.)) posted 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Courtney Clasen led all scorers in the game with 22 points, including 15 in the second half, while grabbing five rebounds.
The Dolphins opened the game with seven of the first nine points. Roberts made a jumper in the paint and then freshman guard
Cameron Tooley (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) drained a three-pointer and made a jumper in the paint.
Saint Rose answered with 12 of the next 16 points to take a three-point advantage. Clasen and Karissa Birthwright each scored five points in the stretch.
Poitevien got the Dolphins within 14-13 at the end of the first with a Poitevien lay-up.
After Saint Rose scored four of the first six points in the second quarter, the Dolphins scored five straight points and eight of the next 10 points to take a 23-20 lead with 3:34 left until halftime. Freshman forward

Cameron Graupman and Ashley Vanderwall countered with consecutive three-pointers to flip the game's three-point margin.
Roberts closed out the half with a pair of jumpers in the paint in the final 42 seconds to give the Dolphins a 27-26 lead at halftime.
After Roberts started the second half's scoring with a jumper, the Golden Knights scored eight of the next 11 points for a 34-32 lead. Birthwright scored the first two points and Clasen followed with a lay-up, a three-pointer and a free throw.
The Dolphins answered with eight of the last 10 points in the quarter over the final 5:01 to take a 40-36 into the final period. Millea made a jumper to tie the score, Roberts converted two foul shots and a jumper around a Saint Rose free throw and freshman guard
Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) followed another Saint Rose free throw with a jumper in the paint.
Following a lay-up by Poitevien to start the scoring in the fourth quarter and give the Dolphins their largest lead of the game, Saint Rose tallied 10 of the next 12 points to take the lead. Vanderwall scored the first four points, Birthwright made a free throw, Clasen drilled a three-pointer at the end of the shot clock to tie the score with 5:12 left and followed 44 seconds later with a jumper in the paint for a 46-44 edge.
The Dolphins countered with five straight points to regain the lead. Roberts made a jumper in the paint before finding Tooley for a three-pointer in transition for a 49-46 lead with 3:27 to go.
The Golden Knights answered with six consecutive points to take the lead back. Clasen made four free throws over two possessions around one made foul shot by Poitevien to knot the score at 50 with 1:12 remaining. Isa Vara de Rey put Saint Rose in front with a jumper with 36 seconds to play.
After Roberts evened the score at 52 with two free throws with 28 seconds left, McDonald drew a foul 25 feet from the basket with 1.5 seconds left. She made the first attempt for the lead, but was unsuccessful on the second. Le Moyne got the rebound and called timeout with 1.1 seconds remaining. After advancing the ball to the front court, a baseline jumper as time expired was off the mark.
Le Moyne (4-2, 2-2 NE10), which had its three-game win streak snapped, returns home to face Pace University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
