Syracuse, N.Y. – Fredrik Bentdal scored a pair of goals to lead fifth-seeded Wilmington University to a 4-1 win over the fourth-seeded Le Moyne College men's soccer team in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Friday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.
The Wildcats advance to the second round and will take on top-seeded Adelphi University on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Ted Grant Field.
Wilmington opened the game's scoring in the 32nd minute. Off a feed from the midfield line up the center of the field by Joe Bell, Bentdal was able to fire a shot from 20 yards into the lower right corner at the 31:52 mark for his 10th goal of the season.
Neither team took a shot over the final 13 minutes as the Wildcats took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
After Wilmington took the first two shots on goal of the second half, the Dolphins evened the score at one apiece in the 58th minute. Off a pass from the left side of the penalty box by second-year graduate student forward

Salar Faryar (Frankfurt, Germany/Max-Eyth Schule) scored from the top of the penalty box into the right corner at the 57:34 mark for his career-high 16th goal of the season.
Wilmington regained the lead just 84 seconds later. Off a pass from the top of the penalty box by Sam Jester, Bentdal slotted a shot from 16 yards inside the near left post at the 58:58 mark for his 11th goal of the year.
Will Stone extended Wilmington's lead to 3-1 at the 68:48 mark from the goal line after dribbling across the mouth of the goal.
The Wildcats completed the game's scoring with 3:11 remaining. After Davion Wedderburn had a point-blank shot saved, Ben Jordan knocked the rebound into the right side of the goal from 12 yards out for his third goal of the campaign.

Josh Mahr (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) recorded seven saves in the loss. Vinny Tasca did not register a save in earning his 15th win of the season.
