Ryan Murphy (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) tossed eight scoreless innings to lead the Le Moyne College baseball team to a 7-0 victory over Saint Anselm College in non-conference action on Sunday morning at the North Main Athletic Complex.
The Dolphins scored the only run they would need in the bottom of the first without getting a hit. Senior right fielder

Andrew Taft (Clinton, N.Y./Clinton/UBuffalo) drew consecutive walks to start the inning. On a double-steal, the catcher threw the ball into center field, which allowed Cox to come around and score.
Le Moyne blew the game open in the second inning with five runs on five hits. Sophomore third baseman
Nicholas Jacques (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Shenendehowa) led off with an single down the third base line, moved to second on a walk by senior center fielder
Timothy Corapi (Liverpool, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and then scored on a double down the right field line by Cox, which forced a pitching change. Taft followed with a single to left field to knock in Corapi. After an out, junior first baseman
Nick Place (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) doubled to left center to plate Cox, while senior left fielder
JT Pittman (Ashland, Mass./Ashland/Bridgton Academy) followed with a single to right to drive in Taft. Place scored the inning's final run as redshirt junior shortstop/pitcher
Ben Walsh (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) reached on a fielder's choice.
Following four scoreless innings, the Dolphins scored the game's final run in the seventh without needing a hit. Jacques opened the frame by reaching on a wild pitch on a third strike. After stealing second and taking third on a fly out, Jacques scored on another wild pitch.
Murphy struck out five over his eight-plus scoreless innings without allowing a walk, while yielding just four hits. Only two Hawks reached third base, but each time the next batter was retired to end the inning. Murphy is the first Dolphin freshman to pitch into the ninth inning in his collegiate debut in more than 16 seasons. Cox, Taft, Place and Jacques each registered two hits in the contest, while Cox and Jacques also scored twice.
Le Moyne (3-1), which has won three of its first four games for the third straight year, returns to the diamond on Friday to take on Queens College at 4:00 p.m. at
