MEN’S TENNIS EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO FOUR WITH 7-2 VICTORY OVER FRANKLIN PIERCE

Rindge, N.H. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team registered its fourth straight victory with a 7-2 win over Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Sunday afternoon.

The Dolphins took a 3-0 lead in the match by sweeping the doubles competition for the third straight match. At the first position, sophomore Philip Blythe (Edinburgh, Scotland/Merchiston) and senior Hallam Doney (Andover, Hampshire/Peter Symonds) improved to 5-1 in conference action with an 8-6 win over Roberto Chong and Andrew Schadt. Junior Andres Hernandez (Monterrey, Mexico/Laurel Springs/Texas Rio Grande Valley) and senior Jason Barton (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee) won for the fourth straight time, 8-3, at the second spot over Yuval Barak and Marcus Lawrence. Juniors Xavier Graells (Castellar del Vallès, Spain/IES Castellar/Harford Community College) and Tyler Underwood (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) remained unbeaten through six conference matches with an 8-3 victory over James Bisazza and Matthew Toombs at the third position.

The Dolphins were victorious in the last four matches of the singles competition to close out the team's fourth straight win. At the third spot, Graells defeated Barak in three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, for his fourth straight win. Barton topped Schadt at the fourth position, 6-4, 7-5, for his fourth consecutive victory. Doney turned in an 8-4 win over Lawrence at the fifth spot, while freshman Christian Erickson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) was an 8-5 winner at the sixth position against Toombs. Chong collected a 6-4, 6-2 win at the first position over Blythe for Franklin Pierce's first point of the day. Bisazza downed Hernandez at the second spot, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
 
Le Moyne (7-4, 4-2 NE10), which has the third-most wins in the conference, returns to the courts on Thursday at Saint Michael's College at 3:00 p.m.
