FAZIO SETS SINGLE-GAME AND CAREER DRAW CONTROL RECORDS AS THIRD-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE CRUISES PAST AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL, 20-1

Springfield, Mass. – Junior attacker Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) broke the single-game and career draw control records as the third-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team registered a 20-1 victory over American International College on Tuesday evening at Abdow Field.

Fazio finished the game with a career-high 14 draw controls to set the program's single-game record. On two occasions earlier this season, she tied the previous record of 12, which was originally set by Gabrielle Kamide '13 on April 3, 2011 and then tied by Vicki Graveline '17 on April 4, 2015. With her fifth draw control of the game, which came at the 10:45 mark of the first half, Fazio broke the program's career record with her 264th. The previous record of 263 was held by Kamide. Her 11th draw control of the contest gave her 100 on the season, just the second time the plateau has been reached, trailing only her single-season program record of 111 from 2016.

The Dolphins opened the game with the first six goals over the initial 7:54 of the contest. Sophomore midfielder Nicole Delany (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) started the scoring just 61 seconds into the game after taking a pass from freshman attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill). The assist gave McMullen 17 on the season, the third-most by a freshman in the program's history. Only 19 seconds later, sophomore attacker Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) tallied her 35th goal of the year. Junior midfielder Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) pushed the lead to three with her 18th goal with 27:40 left in the half. Just 24 seconds later, Delany finished off a pass from Hall for a 4-0 lead. McMullen tallied her 32nd goal of the campaign with 25:29 left and then found the back of the net with 22:06 remaining off a pass from Sanna to cap the game-opening outburst.

Mary Bates recorded American International's lone goal on a free-position shot with 18:07 left in the stanza.

Le Moyne scored eight times over the final 17:15 of the half to take a 14-1 lead into the intermission. Sanna started the run with an unassisted tally. Delany pushed the margin to 8-1 with 14:43 left off a pass from Fazio. Freshman midfielder Jamie Peters (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) netted her second goal of the year after collecting a pass from classmate Brittney Pollack (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) with 11:32 remaining. Just 47 seconds later Delany recorded her fourth goal of the half off a feed from freshman midfielder Sydney Meagher (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport). Freshman midfielder Brynne Lafave (Philadelphia, N.Y./Indian River) gave the Dolphins a double-digit lead with 8:05 to go after receiving a pass from Fazio, who then scored with 5:47 remaining after taking a pass from Pollack. With the goal, Fazio moved into sole possession of 10t place on the program's career goals list with her 122nd. Sophomore attacker Claire Hermann (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) recorded her third goal of the year with 3:28 left and freshman midfielder Lauren Ferris (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) completed the scoring in the half with 1:26 remaining by converting a free-position shot for her second goal of the year.

Le Moyne scored six times in the second half to close out the victory. Delany started the scoring at the 25:10 mark by finishing off a pass from freshman attacker Emily Altland (North Bennington, Vt./Mount Anthony Union). The goal gives Delany 46 on the season, one short of the most by a sophomore in the program's history. Fazio gave the Dolphins a 15-goal advantage with 22:29 remaining after receiving a pass from Sanna. McMullen followed with her 34th goal of the campaign with 21:09 left off a feed from Hall. The assist gives Hall 56 points on the year, which is tied for the second-most by a sophomore in the program's history.

Following almost seven minutes of scoreless play, Lafave scored her second goal off a feed from Pollack with 14:26 left. Hermann picked up her second goal with 6:38 to play, while junior midfielder Grace Milmoe (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia/William Smith) scored her first career goal with 1:43 remaining to complete the game's scoring.

Sophomore goalkeeper Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) earned her 30th straight regular season victory after recording 11 saves, including six in the second half. Chelsea Davis made eight saves (against 14 goals) in the first half in the loss.

Le Moyne (14-0, 10-0 NE10), which clinched at least the third seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, completes its regular-season home schedule on Saturday against Bentley University at 12:00 p.m.
