Syracuse, N.Y. – Mallory Nowicki landed 15 kills to lead the University of New Haven to a 3-0 win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.
After jumping out to a 6-1 lead and enduring a Le Moyne comeback to tie the score at 22, New Haven scored three of the last four points to take the first set, 25-23. After yielding the first three points in the second set, the Dolphins scored six of the next seven to take the lead, which they held until New Haven scored three straight points for a 19-18 edge. Le Moyne regained the lead with back-to-back points, but the Chargers answered with four straight and six of the last seven for a 25-21 win. After the teams split the first 16 points of the third set, the Chargers rattled off five straight and nine of the next 11 en route to a 25-18 victory to close out the match.

Mary Talty (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) each recorded six of their 11 kills in the opening set, while Miller added her other five in the second set. Junior middle blocker

Emily Yancone (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) directed the offense with 44 assists, the most by a Dolphin in a 3-0 loss over the last 16 years, while adding four digs. Senior libero
Mikayla Porr (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led the defense with 23 digs, including 10 in the second set.
Nowicki registered seven of her match-high kill total in the second set, while committing just one error in the match and hitting .438. Kristine Rios tallied a double-double with 30 assists and 14 digs, while adding three service aces and two kills. Brianna Mirmina paced the defense with 11 digs.
Le Moyne (7-5, 0-3 NE10) returns to the court on Tuesday at The College of Saint Rose at 7:00 p.m.
