WOMEN’S TENNIS REMAINS UNBEATEN WITH 7-0 WIN AT BENTLEY

Waltham, Mass. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team remained unbeaten with a 7-0 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Dolphins earned the first point of the match by sweeping the doubles competition. At the top spot, senior Tiffany Hamdan (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City/Roberts Wesleyan) and freshman Birdem Oz (Istanbul, Turkey/TED Ankara College Foundation HS) registered a 6-3 win over Hannah Fabianski and Katie Tynan. Sophomores Caroline St. Antoine (Longueuil, Québec/Cégep Édouard-Montpetit) and Marta Nunez (Rye, N.Y./Antonio Lopez (Spain)) combined for a 6-1 victory at the second spot over Evann Welty and Courtney Flynn to remain unbeaten in NE10 play (3-0). Sophomore Camila Humala (Lima, Peru/Antonio Raimondi) and freshman Brianna Laureti (Oneida, N.Y./Oneida) were 6-1 winners over Morgan Kreiss and Cindy Luo at the third position.
 
The Dolphins also won each match in the singles competition to complete their second sweep of the season. In the closest match of the day, Hamdan defeated Fabianski at the first position, 6-1, 4-6, 11-9. St. Antoine improved to 3-0 in NE10 action with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the second spot over Welty. Nunez also picked up her third win with back-to-back scores of 6-2 against Tynan at the third position. Freshman Belen Wibmer (Maldonado, Uruguay/St. Joseph Mary College) was victorious at the fourth position, 6-1, 6-2, over Flynn. Humala also posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the fifth spot against Kreiss to improve to 3-0 in NE10 play. In her first NE10 singles match, freshman Brooke Fernandez (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd) topped Luo at the sixth position, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Le Moyne (4-0, 3-0 NE10), which defeated the Falcons for the fourth time in five years after dropping at least 11 straight matches, is back on the courts on Sunday at Stonehill College at 12:00 p.m.
