MEN’S SOCCER RECORDS 3-1 VICTORY AT ASSUMPTION

Worcester, Mass. – Three members of the Le Moyne College men's soccer team each recorded three points to lead the Dolphins to a 3-1 victory over Assumption College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

After the Dolphins had the first two shots of the game, including one on target, they netted the game's first goal in the 12th minute. Off passes from junior midfielder Robert Rohrhirsch (Garching bei München, Germany/Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium Garching/Munich University of Applied Sciences) and first-year graduate student forward Goran Naric (Neuwied, Germany/Rhein-Wied-Gymnasium/Hochschule Koblenz), redshirt freshman midfielder Tom Henne (Hamburg, Germany/Gymnasium Buckhorn) registered his second goal of the season at the 11:08 mark.

The Dolphins doubled their lead in the 26th minute. After a Dolphin crossed the ball from the right sideline and an Assumption defender tried to clear the ball, Rohrhirsch blasted the loose ball from the top right corner of the penalty box and into the left side of the net at the 25:13 mark for his eighth goal of the season, tied for the second-most in the conference.

Following two shots on goal by each team over the next eight minutes, the Greyhounds cut their deficit in half in the 39th minute. Off a corner kick from the right side from Alex Moschella, James Magowan scored from six yards out on the right side of the goal box at the 38:46 mark for his first goal of the season.

Le Moyne regained its two-goal advantage in the 64th minute. Following a corner kick by Henne, Naric netted his sixth goal of the season at the 63:48 mark. The assist marked Henne's conference-best sixth of the campaign.

The Greyhounds put four shots on goal over the final 25 minutes of the game, but were unable to cut into their deficit.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Josh Mahr (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) recorded a career high-tying seven saves, including five in the second half, to earn his seventh win of the season. Sebastian Jimenez tallied eight saves, including five in the first half, in the loss. The Dolphins posted an 18-14 advantage in shots, including 13-6 in the first half, while registering a 7-6 edge in corner kicks.

Le Moyne (7-4, 3-3 NE10) is back in action next Saturday at Southern New Hampshire University at 1:00 p.m. The game will air live on Fox College Sports Atlantic. Check local listings as channel will vary based on area and service provider.
