Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team earned its third straight berth in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship semifinals with a 4-3 win in the first round over fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday afternoon at the Skytop Tennis Courts.
With the victory, the Dolphins (12-3) advance to the NE10 semifinals for the third consecutive year (and third time in the program's history) and will face top-seeded Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y. on Friday at 1:00 p.m. The Panthers defeated the Dolphins, 4-1, in the regular-season matchup on October 6.

Brooke Fernandez (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd) blanked Ashley Flood and Brigid Washburn at the third spot, 6-0. Himani Mor and Liria Loria evened the doubles at one apiece with a 6-3 win at the first position over sophomore
Birdem Oz (Istanbul, Turkey/TED Ankara College Foundation HS) and freshman
Francesca Lilliegren (). Laura Alvarez and Jazmin Flood captured the point with a 7-5 victory over juniors
Marta Nunez (Rye, N.Y./Antonio Lopez (Spain)) and
Rebecca Peters (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn/Cayuga C.C.) at the second spot.
Le Moyne won four of the six matches in the singles competition to secure the victory. Perez evened the match at one apiece by defeating Pagliuca, 6-0, 6-1, at the fifth position. Fernandez put the Dolphins in front with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at the sixth spot over Jazmin Flood. Peters got the Dolphins on the verge of victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the fourth position over Ashley Flood. Alvarez kept the Ravens in the match with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 win at the third spot over Lilliegren. Loria evened the match at three apiece by rallying for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory over Nunez at the second position. After falling behind 5-0 in the first set, Oz rallied to win seven straight games to win the first set, 7-5, against Mor and then clinched the match for the Dolphins with a 6-4 win in the second set.
