Syracuse, N.Y. – Senior forward Tom Brown (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) registered a double-double to lead the Le Moyne College men's basketball team to an 88-70 win over The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday evening in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.

Brown's double-double, his second of the season, consisted of a season-high 17 points, including nine in the second half, and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Ryan Roland (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Mercyhurst) recorded 14 of his team-high 18 points in the second half. Sophomore guard Nino Hernandez (Gardner, Mass./Winchendon School/Bryant) tallied a career-best 16 points, including 12 in the second half, a career high-tying seven rebounds and a career-best five assists. Redshirt senior guard Malik Garner (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow/Sunrise Christian Academy/Saginaw Valley State) scored eight of his 13 points in the second half.

Sekou Sylla registered a double-double of a game-high 25 points, including 14 in the first half, and 11 rebounds, including six in the second half, to lead the Golden Knights.

After Roland gave the Dolphins an 8-4 lead with a four-point play, the Golden Knights scored nine straight points for their largest lead of the game. Sylla had six of the points, while Adam Anderson drained a three-pointer.

Following Sylla's fourth basket of the game to put Saint Rose up 17-12 with 11:54 left in the first half, the Dolphins recorded a 9-0 run of their own to regain a four-point advantage. Hernandez scored four of the points, while three others combined for the remaining five points.

After the teams split the game's next 22 points, which resulted in a 32-28 Le Moyne lead with 2:41 left in the half, the Golden Knights scored the last five points of the stanza. Michael Wearne buried a three-pointer and then Sylla put Saint Rose in front at the half with a fast-break lay-up for a 33-32 advantage.

Le Moyne scored the first seven points of the second half. Graduate student forward Lonnie Rivera (Spring Valley, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep (N.J.)/American/Wagner) made a lay-up, Hernandez converted a fast-break lay-up off a pass from Rivera, who followed with a three-pointer to force a Saint Rose timeout with 18:42 remaining.

Following four points by each team over the next minute, Saint Rose put together a 10-4 spurt to even the score at 47 with 14:30 left. Anderson and Manasseh Small drilled three-pointers around baskets in the paint by Sylla and Cartier Bowman.

After Small made a shot in the paint to get the Golden Knights within one for the last time (55-54) with 12:28 left, the Dolphins ran off a 26-7 run over 7:31 to take their largest lead of the game (81-61) with 4:57 to play.
